Kelly Holmes, Lakota from the Cheyenne River reservation in South Dakota, is the founder and President of Native Max & Other Media Ventures, and editor-in-chief of Native Max Magazine. Native Max Magazine is a glossy publication which features the fashion, culture, and lifestyle of Native American and First Nations people. -- The idea behind the formation of Native Max Magazine was the brainchild of Kelly. After working as a model, writer, designer and stylist, Kelly decided to create her own business. Kelly felt that by launching a magazine that features Native talent she can better promote self-esteem, self-respect, and pride in Native communities. -- Kelly's achievements so far includes founding the first ever Native American fashion magazine at the young age of 20, winner of the Small Business Award of the Year in 2014, one of the top 5 nominations for the Fashion category in the Shorty Awards: the Oscars of Social Media in 2015, and one of 5 businesses selected (as well as the youngest business owner on the delegation) to receive a grant for Natives Go Global's Manchester UK trip in late 2015.
